Let’s talk distinction between Polynucleotides, Skin Boosters and Dermal Fillers

Navigating through a treatment menu can be challenging when all the treatments claim to be skin rejuvenating & non-surgical facelifting facials. So, here is explanation of what they actually do & how they work?

August 2024

One of the latest skin treatments creating a buzz in the industry is the use of injectable polynucleotides. These products work at a deeper level by repairing the DNA of cells and stimulating the natural production of collagen and elastin. They effectively regenerate tissue and promote accelerated cell repair, resulting in long-lasting rejuvenation.

Polynucleotides are not only beneficial for promoting collagen and elastin production, but they also provide hydration, antioxidants, and anti-inflammatory properties.Additionally, they aid in speeding up the healing process, making them ideal for scar repair. These treatments can also help reduce skin laxity on various areas such as the abdomen, knees, arms, and face.

To achieve optimal results, three sessions of polynucleotide treatment are recommended over a period of six weeks, with maintenance sessions ideally scheduled every 3-6 months. There is no significant downtime associated with these treatments, and any minimal side effects can easily be covered with make up. The best results are typically seen at around three months, although the full benefits may take longer to manifest and can last for an extended period.

Polynucleotide treatments can also be combined with other treatments offered at Beauty Bar.

Dermalfillers, on the other hand, have been in use for several decades and are well-known brands at Beauty Bar, including Juvederm Voluma, Volift, Smile, andMona Lisa. These fillers are a modified form of hyaluronic acid, a naturally occurring substance in our bodies.

The primary objective of dermal fillers is to add volume, plumpness, and enhance various facial features, providing long-lasting results that can last up to 12months or even longer. They are commonly used in areas such as the lips, cheeks, jawline, nose, and mouth.

Eachdermal filler product has a slightly different composition, specifically tailored for the targeted area. They provide instant results, delivering a smooth, hydrated, and rejuvenated appearance.

Skinboosters, as the name suggests, are treatments that boost the skin's condition. At Beauty Bar, we use Profhilo, which is the purest form of injectable hyaluronic acid available. Unlike fillers, Profhilo does not contain any additives and is composed of a high and low molecular weight aqueous fluid without cross-linking properties. It acts as a humectant, naturally drawing moisture to the skin, resulting in plumping and smoothing effects across the face.

The main objective of Profhilo is to reduce fine lines and wrinkles, enhance radiance, and improve smoothness. While it also stimulates the production of elastin and collagen, it offers a more subtle form of "facelifting" compared to fillers. Profhilo can be used to treat the entire face, unlike fillers that are specific to a particular area.Typically, a minimum of two sessions spaced four weeks apart is recommended, with maintenance sessions every three to four months.
